Established in 1997, The June Hancock Mesothelioma Research Fund is the UK’s first and largest independent mesothelioma charity. We have raised more than £1.5 million, the majority of which being spent on quality research into the diagnosis and treatment of mesothelioma and the care of people with the disease.

Our charity is named after June Hancock; she successfully sued the asbestos factory owners whose negligence claimed her life. Alan Bennett grew up near June in Armley and has paid tribute to her courage.

“Those of the calibre of June Hancock are heroes.” – Alan Bennett
